Frenkie De Jong‘s future is the most debated topic in this transfer window. FDJ has been a crucial part of Barcelona’s set up yet the cash-striped Barcelona have looking to oof load FDJ in search of much-needed cash inflow. Manchester United and interested in the midfielder and as their man in charge Erik Ten Hag wants FDJ to sign for Manchester United.
Manchester United made their first official bid for Frenkie De Jong in the last week of June and it was straightway rejected by Barcelona. Barcelona is holding on for a valuation of 75 Million but United aren’t ready to offer anything above 60 million. The situation is tense yet at a stalemate. Further talks are ongoing but nothing is concrete between the 2 clubs.
Here in this article, we will look at 3 such players whom Manchester United can go after if they fail to secure the Frenkie De Jong Transfer.
Ruben Neves (Wolves)
The Portuguese International could be an apt like-to-like replacement if the Red Devils fail to secure Frenkie De Jong’s signature. Wolves however have put a €100mil price tag on Neves. The player has let his desire to leave the club should a bigger club show the desire to sign him.
Conrad Laimer (RB Leipzig)
The Austrian midfielder could be an option if Frenkie De Jong does decide to stay in Barcelona. Conrad Laimer as described by his teammates and coach is a pressing machine. The kind of player who will definitely suit Erik Ten Hag’s system and style. There is however little to no interest shown by Manchester United in Laimer which is surprising given that his buy-out clause is around €25mil.
Youri Tielemens
The midfielder has 12 months left on his deal and was linked with an Old Trafford transfer last year. While away with Belgium, he admitted that he could leave the Foxes this summer. Tielemens could be perfect for United as he has prior experience playing in the premier league and knows the league in and out.
Very good write-up. I certainly love this site.
Continue the good work!
