Stand Up Training Program: Actor Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has spoken out against street harassment, offering empowering advice on how to confront the issue. As part of L’Oréal Paris‘ latest campaign, the brand ambassador took to Instagram on Monday to share a video aimed at inspiring individuals to stand up for themselves.
Aishwarya’s Powerful Message on Tackling Harassment
In the video, Aishwarya emphasized the importance of confidence and self-worth while dealing with street harassment. She said, “Street harassment. How do you deal with it? Avoid eye contact? No. Look the problem directly in the eyes. Hold your head high. Feminine and feminist. My body, my worth. Never compromise your worth. Do not doubt yourself. Stand up for your worth. Don’t blame your dress or your lipstick. Street harassment is never your fault.” The actor’s words highlighted the need to confront the problem head-on while rejecting societal blame often placed on women.
A Call to Action
Aishwarya captioned her post, “On this International Day for the elimination of violence against women, join @lorealparis’s Stand Up against street harassment training program. We’re all worth it. @lorealparis,” adding the hashtag #WeStandUp.
