Rysa Panday On Nepotism: The younger sister of actor Ananya Panday, Rysa Panday, has found herself at the center of a renewed nepotism debate after a screenshot of her LinkedIn profile was shared online. The viral post, shared by an X user with the caption, “ah good old nepotism,” highlights Rysa’s internships at top production houses, including Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment (four months), Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment (one month), and Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s Tiger Baby (one month).
Rysa, who is currently pursuing a course in filmmaking at NYU Tisch School of Arts, previously appeared on season 2 of her mother Bhavana Pandey’s reality show The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives in 2022.
Nepotism Debate Resurfaces
The post quickly sparked discussions about nepotism, given Rysa’s Bollywood lineage. The younger daughter of Chunky Panday and Bhavana Pandey, Rysa joins her sister Ananya in being scrutinized for leveraging family connections in the industry. Ananya herself debuted in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, and has since worked with Excel Entertainment and Tiger Baby in Kho Gaye Hum Kahan last year.

Fans Defend Rysa’s Efforts
Despite the backlash, many users defended Rysa, arguing that utilizing opportunities provided by family connections doesn’t negate hard work. One comment read, “uhm if I was a product of nepotism I would still take all the chances given to me ngl,” while another stated, “Better than not doing anything at all.” Others dismissed the criticism, pointing out the hypocrisy of such judgments. “So you just want them to not take the opportunity?” questioned a user, while another remarked, “yea sure act like you won’t take the opportunity if your parents could give you one.”
Ananya Panday on ‘Star Kid’ Criticism
In a recent podcast with Raj Shamani, Ananya Panday addressed the growing negativity surrounding the term ‘star kid.’ She expressed her disapproval of how it’s often used as an insult, saying, “I don’t like the fact that ‘star kid’ is being used as an insult these days.” Meanwhile, Ananya is set to appear in her next project, a film alongside Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan, produced by Karan Johar.
