Arjun Kapoor Defends Salman Khan: Arjun Kapoor recently opened up about Salman Khan during a podcast with Raj Shamani, shattering common misconception about the superstar. While Salman Khan often carries a “tough guy” image, Arjun shared insights into the warmth and thoughtfulness behind that exterior.
“He Is Not a Bully”
Dispelling myths about Salman Khan being intimidating, Arjun Kapoor said, “He is not a bully. Anybody who has a tough image… When you are not always openly warm in the first few minutes, you feel they are being a certain way. There is a lot of warmth to that man. It’s just he might not give it in the first second. But you will have to allow that to happen.”
Arjun, who has known Salman closely both personally and professionally, emphasized that the actor’s persona may seem stern at first glance, but beneath it lies a genuine and caring individual.

“He Operates for the Masses”
Praising Salman Khan’s connection with his audience, Arjun highlighted the superstar’s ability to cater to the masses. He shared, “He has always looked at cinema as an audience’s medium, he has never looked at it only as an artiste. Even today, when he does stage shows and hosts Bigg Boss, one can see that these are mass mediums. He operates for the masses. He has worked for the audience and then he has built that audience.”
Arjun credited Salman’s upbringing around the legendary writing duo Salim-Javed for shaping his understanding of mainstream cinema and his instinct to connect with the common man.
A Personal and Professional Connection
Arjun’s association with Salman goes back to his days as an assistant director on Wanted. Their bond extended beyond work, as Arjun was once in relationship with Malaika Arora, formerly married to Salman’s brother, Arbaaz Khan. Arjun even paid tribute to Salman in the song Superman form his film Tevar, calling himself “Salman ka Fan.”
