Chinmayi Sripaada Slams Kapil Sharma: Comedian Kapil Sharma has once again found himself at the center of controversy, this time for a remark aimed at filmmaker Atlee during a recent episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show. The episode, featuring the team of Atlee’s upcoming film Baby John, including Varun Dhawan, Keerthy Suresh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, has sparked an uproar on social media. Singer Chinmayi Sripaada has now joined the conversation, calling out Kapil for his alleged “racist jibes” at Atlee’s appearance.
What Happened on the Show?
Director Atlee appeared on the grand finale of The Great Indian Kapil Show on Saturday to promote his much- anticipated film Baby John. In response, Atlee, known for his dignified demeanor, replied, “In a way I understand your question. I’ll try to answer. I’m actually very thankful to AR Murugadoss sir because he produced my first film. He asked for a script, but he didn’t see how I was looking or whether I’m capable of it or not. But, he loved my narration. I think the world should see that. We should not judge by appearance. You have to judge by your heart.”

Fans React to the Controversy
One twitter user wrote, “I watched this episode this afternoon. I was thinking the same. Maybe his intention was not that, but then he should have framed the question in a much, much better way. But all in all, he is a champion of body shaming, so not surprising at all.”
Another added, “Kapil Sharma may be a nice person otherwise, but he makes racist/sexist/body shaming/homophobic jokes all the time on his show. His silly question to Atlee reflects the fair-skin colour obsession of North Indians.”
Social media platforms were flooded with reactions from viewers who expressed their displeasure over Kapil’s comment.
Will Kapil Sharma Apologize?
A the debate continues, one thing remains clear: the lines between humor and insensitivity need to be carefully tread, especially on platforms that reach millions. Whether Kapil Sharma chooses to address this controversy remains to be seen, but the internet has made its judgement loud and clear.
