During an interview, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Dilip Joshi aka Jethalal discussed his co-stars Shailesh Lodha and Disha Vakani, who played Tarak Mehta and Dayaben, respectively, and have since left the show.
When asked how much he misses his co-star Disha Vakani, Dilip Joshi replied, “Definitely, for the last 10 years, you can say Disha Ji and I have worked together, and as you mentioned, since day 1, our chemistry and tuning went well and it was fun.” Of course, Disha Ji was the number one artist, particularly in comedy, and she had that uninhibited approach that every actor should have, which is very rare in female artists, but Disha Ji was wonderful. Her execution was enjoyable, given her character’s insanity. I enjoyed her acting not only as an actor, but also as an audience member.
I frequently watch previous episode clips and wonder when we shot that scene because we have done so many scenes together in the last 14 years that we forget whether we have done it or not. So, without a doubt, I miss her terribly. I definitely miss the excitement of performing such scenes with her.”
“As I said, changes will be there and there will be difficulties throughout, but never say never, you never know Shailesh bhai may come back in the show,” he later said when asked about Shailesh Lodha’s exit.
