Deepika Padukone Depression: During an episode of Samay Raina’s show, a stand-up comedian, Banti Banerjee, sparked controversy by making a joke about Deepika Padukone’s mental health struggles. Referring to Deepika’s recent journey into motherhood with her daughter Dua Padukone Singh, Banti quipped, “Deepika Padukone also became a mother recently, right? Great! Now she knows what depression really looks like.” She also implied that Deepika’s battle with depression was related to “break-up waala depression.” Banti shared that she herself is a mother of a two-year-old during her set.

One netizen expressed their anger, saying, “That is not even remotely funny. Making fun of depression. Attacking a woman and accusing her of faking depression. Worst, it is uttered by a woman. That dialogue, ‘aurat hi aurat ki sabse badi dushman hoti hain,’ comes to mind.”
