A source close to Jennifer Lopez exclusively shared with InTouch Weekly, “She can’t wait to get the hell out of the house when she can and assumed it would have happened by now, and someone would have snapped it up, especially after the renovations and personal touches she added, but nothing’s happened.” The insider continued, “The house is like a noose around her neck, and she feels trapped. She walks around the house and feels all the bad memories. Not even her weird voodoo magic has helped. The place still has imprints of Ben everywhere.”
Despite her efforts to let go, the mansion’s connection to her past relationship with Affleck makes it difficult for Lopez to move forward. The house, she and Affleck purchased in May 2023, has become a constant reminder of their brief but intense marriage.
A New Beginning for Both
Lopez and Affleck had hoped their dream home would be a fresh start, but by July, the couple had already listed it for sale, with Affleck moving out and purchasing a $20 million property in the Pacific Palisades. Lopez officially filled for divorce on August 20, exactly two years after their Georgia wedding. A source told InTouch Weekly at the time, “The writing is on the wall – it’s over. They’re headed for a divorce, and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame. He’s focusing on his work and his kids now.”
