Sanket Mahadev Sargar, an Indian weightlifter, won silver in the Men’s 55kg category at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Sargar, a 22-year-old from Maharashtra’s Sangli district, holds the national and Commonwealth records in the men’s 55 kg weight class with a weight of 256 kg.
In an exclusive interview with Catch Karo, Sanket Sargar explained how he got started in weightlifting.
“It was extremely difficult training college and managing the shop while also maintaining the training and gym.” It wasn’t impossible, but handling the shop with father, as well as doing good training and not wasting time,” he added.
“My parents have done everything they can to provide as a result of their hard work.” I need to make my parents proud by working hard”, he stated.

Sanket will stay back in the United Kingdom for treatment of the UCL injury he sustained during his Commonwealth Games 2022 bout (CWG 2022)
