By declaring that he is hanging up his boots, Jamie Roberts has officially put an end to his illustrious playing career. The 35-year-old Wales and Lions center has made the decision to hang up his boots after what will likely be his final Super Rugby season with the Sydney Waratahs. Before embarking on his last journey to Australia, he spent the last 16 years with Cardiff, Racing Metro, Harlequins, Bath, the Stormers, and the Dragons. Under Warren Gatland, he participated in 94 games for Wales, contributing to their success in several Grand Slams and Six Nations championships. Additionally, he participated in two tours with the Lions, during which he was voted Man of the Series in South Africa in 2009 and helped them win in Australia in 2013.

It was a phenomenal career by any standard. His playing days are over, having become a father, a husband, and a businessman. He made the announcement of his retirement in a moving message in which he expressed gratitude to those who had supported him along the road.
