Jigra Box Office Updates: Alia Bhatt starrer has reached a box office collection of Rs 25.35 crore in India after nine days. Despite its star power and direction, the film is struggling to make a strong impact.
Vasan Bala‘s Jigra, which faced serious allegations of nepotism, fake box office collection and unprofessionalism. Jigra centers on Alia’s character, Satya, who goes to great lengths to free her brother, Ankur (Vedang), from prison and death row. Reportedly, Jigra is made on a budget of 80 crore, with an additional Rs 10 crore allocated for promotions.

According to The Times of India, Jigra opened to a decent number of Rs 4.5 crore on its first day and did a business of around Rs 16.75 over the weekend, but its collections dropped Monday onwards. Furthermore, the report stated that the action thriller managed to collect a total of Rs 21.10 crore in six days, which is comparatively less than Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri‘s Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video, which released on the same date and earned around
Rs 25 crore in the domestic circuit.
According to early estimates by Sacnilk.com, the film minted Rs 1.75 crore on day 9 and now the total collection stands at Rs 25.35 crore. Despite the star power and direction by Vasan Bala, its box office performance did not meet expectations.
Alarmingly, Jigra opened lower than even Bhatt’s two notable flops—”Shaandaar” and “Kalank,” which debuted at ₹13.10 crore and ₹21.60 crore.
Divya Khosla slams Karan Johar and Alia Bhatt for copying her film Savi
A notable allegation was made by actor-filmmaker Divya Khosla who accused Karan Johar of plagiarism in reference to her film ‘Savi‘.
After Jigra’s release, Divya took to her Instagram Stories to share a picture of an empty theatre and accused Alia Bhatt of manipulating box office numbers.

In defense the director of Jigra, Vasan Bala said “Anyone who can investigate and bring out anything is more than welcome“.
Earlier the director confessed his discontent about Karan Johar sending the draft of the film to Alia Bhatt without consulting the him. In a recent interview, director Vasan Bala revealed that he initially had no plans to feature Alia in the film. He further added that he was disappointed when Karan Johar sent Vedang’s rough draft to Alia.
