The allegations revolve around a pivotal “rooftop scene” where Baldoni’s character, Ryle Kincaid, meets Lively’s Lily Bloom. According to Baldoni, Lively insisted on rewriting the scene, which differed drastically from the original script. Initially resistant to the changes, Baldoni claims he was subtly pressured into reviewing and eventually accepting Lively’s revision.
The Penthouse Meeting with Swift and Reynolds
The lawsuit describes a meeting at Lively and Reynold’s New York City penthouse, where Taylor Swift was also present. Baldoni claims the meeting was orchestrated to sway his opinion on the rewritten scene. During the gathering, Reynolds and Swift reportedly praised Lively’s script changes, which Baldoni perceived as an attempt to influence his decision.
His lawsuit narrates a final submission when he texts lively saying, “I really love what you did. It really does help a lot. And I would have felt that way without Ryan or Taylor.”
A Bitter Legal Battle Amid Tension
A lawsuit has been filed after Lively filed her own complaint on December 20, in which she stated that Baldoni made sexually harassing remarks and created a hostile work environment. In the 179-page counter-complaint, not only Baldoni deny all the allegations but paint an image of mounting tension during the pre-production phase of the film.
