Since then, their professional relationship has intrigued fans, leading many to question is everything okay between the two. However, Kartik has now opened up about their dynamic, giving fans a peek into their “love and hate relationship” as the two gear up to work together again on an exciting new project.
Kartik Aaryan on His Bond with KJo
At the recent SCREEN LIVE event in Mumbai, Kartik Aaryan was shown a picture of himself with Karan Johar, where Karan i seen playfully pulling Kartik by the ear. Reacting to the image, Kartik smiled and shared, “Ispe kya bolu? I think yeh love and hate relationship hai… Bahut ache yeh photo represent karti hai (What do I say to this? I think this is a love and hate relationship. This photo represents that very well).”

Kartik revealed that the moment captured in the picture was from when they had first signed Dostana 2. “Yeh moment tab ka hai jab hum logo ne pehli film, jo humari honi thi kabhi, voh sign ki thi. Toh tab ka moment hai. I think he knew ki main… photo pehle se le li thi (This was the moment when our first film, which was going to happen, was signed. This was then. I think he knew that I… so he took the picture beforehand).”
Collaboration on a New Film
Despite the rocky past, Kartik and Karan are reuniting for a new film titled Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. Directed by Sameer Vidwans and backed by Dharma Productions, the movie is set to release in 2026.
