Margot Robbie Nude Scene Bold Decision
The scene where Robbie’s character, Naomi Lapaglia, seduces stockbroker Jordan Belfort (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) became one of the most talked-about moments in the film. While director Martin Scorsese offered her the option of wearing a robe if she felt uncomfortable, Robbie emphasized that the decision to appear fully naked was hers alone. “The whole point is that she’s going to come out completely naked – that’s the card she’s playing,” Robbie explained, highlighting Naomi’s manipulative and powerful nature in the scene.
The Audition Surprise: Slapping DiCaprio Instead of Kissing
Robbie also recalled an unforgettable moment during her final audition for the role. The scene required her to kiss DiCaprio, but instead, she opted to slap him. “I thought, I could kiss Leonardo DiCaprio right now, and that would be awesome. I can’t wait to tell all of my friends this,” she said, before changing her mind and delivering a slap instead. “Then I thought… nah. And just walloped him in the face,” Robbie recalled.

The Tense Aftermath of the Slap
Robbie remembered the tense silence that followed the slap: “It was dead silence for what felt like an eternity but was probably three seconds,” she said. Fortunately, both DiCaprio and Scorsese burst out laughing. “Leo and Marty were laughing so hard, they said, ‘that was great,'” she added. Despite the positive reaction, Robbie admitted she feared she had made a huge mistake. “I was thinking, I’m going to get arrested, I’m pretty sure that’s assault, battery,” she confessed, humorously adding, “Not only will you never work again, actually you will go to jail for this, you idiot.”
Shaping Naomi’s Storyline: Robbie’s Creative Input
In addition to her on-screen actions, Robbie also contributed creatively to her character’s storyline. She suggested the idea for Naomi and Jordan to have one last sexual encounter before Naomi asks for a divorce. “We were a couple of months into the shoot at that point,” Robbie explained, recalling how Scorsese fostered a free-for-all atmosphere on set where more outlandish ideas were encouraged.
