Mika Singh Interview: Singer-composer Mika Singh has opened up about the turbulent journey of producing the series Dangerous, starring couple Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover. In a candid interview on the Kadak Podcast, Mika revealed the behind-the-scenes chaos that ultimately led him to quit filmmaking altogether. Bipasha’s Insistence and Budget Woes
Mika initially planned to cast Karan Sing Grover alongside a newcomer to keep the project within budget. However, Bipasha insisted on joining her husband in the series. “Although they fit the budget, the experience turned out to be unpleasant,” Mika shared.
From day one, the production faced hurdles. Mika recalled, “The shoot was full of issues.” Things worsened when Karan fractured his leg during a stunt, causing major delays.

Tantrums and Demands
Mika shared that the couple’s demands pushed the production timeline and budget. “I took team of 50 people for a month-long schedule, but it ended up extending to two months,” he said. Adding to his frustration, the couple demanded separate hotel rooms despite being married and even insisted on moving to a different hotel.
One of the more puzzling moment came when they refused to film a kissing scene. Mika remarked, “They are husband and wife, yet they refused to film a kissing scene.”
Industry Advice Ignored
Before starting the project, Mika sought advice from industry veterans Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar, both of whom warned him against producing the series. “Akshay kumar told me, ‘Why would you want to go through this? Don’t waste your money. You’ll lose it all,” Mika recalled. Salman Khan also suggested that if Mika wanted to produce, he should star in the project himself.
Looking back, Mika regretted not taking Salman’s advice. “I invested so much money into it, and the series didn’t work. If I had starred in it, at least the songs would have become successful,” he admitted.
