Sanket Mahadev Sargar won silver in the men’s 55kg weightlifting event in Birmingham, giving India its first medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. Sanket began weightlifting as a 13-year-old in 2013, alongside his sister, who is also a weightlifter. Sargar arrived in Birmingham having won the National Championships as well as the Singapore International.
Sanket Mahadev Sargar spoke exclusively to Catch Karo about his routine when he is not in practice or taking a break from weightlifting.

Sanket Sargar will stay back in the United Kingdom for treatment of the UCL injury he sustained during his Commonwealth Games 2022 bout (CWG 2022).
