As per the reports soon The Rugby World Cup will be organised and between these senator David Pocock former captain of Australian team has said that no fuel company should sponsor any sports team.
According to pocock fuel companies use these sponsorships as to greenify the business which is not good and that’s why no fuel companies who support high carbon emission should support any sports team.
Former flanker Pocock describes the climate crisis as “probably the biggest problem we face as a species” and after the European summer we have just experienced as a “critical moment in history“.
David Pocock was applauded off the pitch by England players after Australia’s quarter-final defeat at the 2019 World Cup. Pocock (Centre) played his 78th and final match for Australia in the quarter-final defeat by England at the 2019 World Cup in Japan.
World Rugby chief executive Alan Gilpin said, “we recognise there is a challenging debate around them as a sponsor and as a fossil fuel company.”
With this all the Rugby fans are really excited for the upcoming Rugby World Cup 2023.
