The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced a 12-month schedule for both men’s and women’s cricket. Apart from the one-year timetable for their international players, the board has also introduced a new concept for the development of the country’s untapped talents at the grassroots level by introducing the first-ever Pakistan Junior League (PJL).
The PJL, which is a domestic T20 competition, is expected to begin in October of this year. In its press release, the PCB requested sponsorship for a variety of match rights, including championship sponsorship, live-streaming, class sponsorships, crew franchises, and so on.
“Interested parties are invited to acquire the Expression of Interest form from the PCB website under Documents/PJL and email their filled-in EOIs to bidding@pcb.com.pk before April 26, 2022,” according to Cricket Pakistan.

“After days of hard work and planning, we have today released the Expression of Interest document for the Pakistan Junior League, the world’s first-ever international league of its sort, the first edition of which we hope to organize this year in October,” said PCB Chairman Ramiz Raja.
“This will be a city-based competition, with players chosen through a draught system that will include international age-group cricketers.” With legends and icons of the game serving as mentors and coaches in player dugouts, and television coverage from the top draw, the PCB will create an environment of brilliance.” he Added
“Initiatives like the PJL are all about giving cricketers opportunities, finding talent, developing them into world-class players, and reducing the gap between domestic and international cricket,” the 1992 World Cup winner stated.

He also described how a 16-year-old will develop an interest in cricket after he is drafted and starts earning money. He went on to say how this will instill a feeling of responsibility in the young players, as well as their ability to perform under pressure by scoring runs and taking wickets.
