Sonakshi shared the behind the scenes of the celebration on her YouTube channel, where she gave a glimpse of the intimate gathering. Shatrughan Sinha, fondly known as “Shotgun,” turned 79 on December 9, while Zaheer Iqbal (Sonakshi’s husband) celebrated his 36th birthday on December 10.
This year marked a special milestone for the Sinha family, as it was the first time Shatrughan and Zaheer celebrated their birthdays together. The party was filled with warmth and laughter, with veteran actress Rekha gracing the occasion. However, Luv and Kush’s absence, much like their no-show at Sonakshi’s wedding, sparked renewed speculations about their rift within the family.
Luv-Kush’s Absence Explained
The noticeable absence of Luv and Kush has reignited conversations about family tensions. Reflecting on the brothers skipping her wedding, Shatrughan Sinha told Retro Lehren: “I won’t complain. They are only humans. They may still not be mature. I do understand their pain and confusion. There is always cultural reaction. Maybe, if I was their age, I might have had a similar reaction to it. But, here is here where your maturity, seniority, and experience comes in place. Hence, my reaction was not as extreme as my sons.”

Sonakshi and Zaheer tied the knot in June last year after years of dating. Sharing their wedding photos, the couple wrote, “On this very day, seven years back (232.06.2017) in each other’s eyes, we saw love in its purest form…leading up to this moment… we are now man and wife.”
While the absence of her brothers may have added a shadow of complexity to the celebration, the event remained a heartfelt tribute to family, love, and the Sinha legacy.
