Sonu Sood on Kangana Ranaut: The long-standing rift between Sonu Sood and Kangana Ranaut, which began during the making of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi, continues to make headlines. Sonu, known for his calm demeanor, recently shared his thoughts on their strained relationship and why they are no longer on talking terms.
Never Talked After Manikarnika
In an interview with Shubhankar Mishra on his YouTube channel, Sonu candidly spoke about his current dynamic with Kangana. Reflecting on their bond before Manikarnika, he revealed, “I left Manikarnika also because Kangana is my friend. We are not on talking terms right now, but I have been very close with her family- her mother, father, and sister meet me very lovingly.”
Sonu further shared his personal philosophy, adding, “If I have been close to someone or friend with them, more or less, if i have a problem, I will never speak against them. People can say whatever they want, but I will never say anything against them.”

“Its Her Foolishness, Not Malice”
Sonu addressed the bitterness that emerged during the film’s production While he acknowledged feeling upset by Kangana’s comments, he chose to take the high road. “I feel that it’s her foolishness; she is not a bad person. But sometimes, when you write or say something, you don’t actually think it through. I might have also gone through this and done things out of being naive. However, there is no regret. It’s her own thinking, I prefer not to pay heed by answering,” he said.
The Fallout That Ended a Friendship
Sonu Sood walked out of Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi amidst reports of professional disagreements. While some claimed his departure was due to his commitments to Simmba, others speculated it stemmed from Kangana’s takeover of the directorial reins from Krish Jagalamudi.
At the time, Kangana alleged that Sonu left becuase he “refused to work under a woman director.” Sonu, however, firmly denied the accusation. Despite the fallout, Sonu remains steadfast in not letting the incident define his perception of Kangana.
