Swara took to X to share a viral meme that juxtaposed two images of her – one featuring her in a salwar-kurta with a dupatta covering her head, standing beside her husband Fahad Ahmad and Maulana Sajjad Nomani, and the other, a glamorous shot from her pre-marriage days. The meme captioned the images “before-after,” implying that Swara had embraced a more “conservative” style after tying the knot.
In response, Swara shared the meme alongside additional pictures of herself post-marriage. These included her wearing dresses, including an off-shoulder gown, making it clear that her wardrobe remained as diverse as ever. Accompanying the pictures, she wrote, “I didn’t realise my wardrobe choices post marriage are a national cyber debate (bizarre!)… Here are more pics of me post marriage to give Sanghi vermin more fodder for their dung.” Swara didn’t stop there. She also addressed those attacking her husband, Fahad, and his religion. “I’m sorry @FahadZirarAhmad doesn’t fit your stereotype of a conservative Muslim husband. Lol!” she added, mocking the regressive narratives being spun around their interfaith marriage.

Marriage and Motherhood
Swara tied the knot with Fahad Ahmad, a politician and student activist, in February 2023. The couple welcomed their daughter, Rabiya, in September. Fahad, formerly a member of the Samajwadi Party, later joined the Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction). He contested the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly elections from the Anushakti Nagar constituency in Mumbai south-central.
