The initiation of a public campaign to strengthen cyber security in these four countries has been announced by The Quad, a plurilateral structure made up of India, Australia, Japan, and the US.
Internet users are encouraged to join the challenge and make a commitment to adopt safe and responsible online behaviours, according to the National Security Council Secretariat. The project, according to the Quad, is a reflection of its ongoing efforts to promote a more secure and resilient cyber ecosystem for the benefit of economies and users worldwide.
Cybercrime and other dangerous cyber attacks that can cost trillions of dollars annually and compromise sensitive, personal data are targets of internet users all across the world, the announcement noted.

It added that by working together, Internet users and service providers can take minor efforts to greatly improve cybersecurity and cyber safety. It was noted that many cyberattacks can be protected against by straightforward preventive measures.
These actions include constantly updating security software, activating multi-factor authentication for enhanced identity checks, using stronger passphrases that are frequently changed, and being aware of typical online frauds like phishing.
