The Gujarat Giants and Telugu Yoddhas both won big on the first day of the Ultimate Kho Kho League, defeating the Mumbai Khiladis and the Chennai Quick Guns, respectively.
Captain Ranjan Shetty of the Gujarat Giants won the toss and chose to defend first. The Mumbai Khiladis started the power play with the first three players- Mareppa, Vinayak Pokarde, and Akshay Bhangare- but Gujarat Giants picked them all up in less than two minutes. Mumbai Khiladi dominated the first round of the match, winning 22-2. The Gujarat Giants scored two runs in the second inning to take a 26-24 lead. Mumbai Khiladis took the lead with a score of 44-30 in the first seven minutes of the second run. However, Gujarat completely dominated the decisive final run, allowing them to win by a massive 39 points.
Telugu Yoddhas defeated Chennai Quick Guns by 10 points in the second game of the first day. Telugu Yoddhas led 29-15 after the first inning. Chennai Quick Guns, on the other hand, tried everything to make a comeback but lost. The Chennai Quick Guns scored 23 points in the second inning, but Telugu Yoddhas already had a 19-point lead and won.
