Actor Vikram Kapadia recently discussed the payment challenges faced by actors in the film industry. He specifically addressed two of the biggest production houses in Hindi cinema—Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films and claimed that both studios often project a sense of superiority and tend to offer lower pay compared to other production companies, under the pretext of providing artists with opportunities.
In an interview with Bollywood Now, he stated, “Yash Raj and Dharma have this ego that we are Yash Raj and Dharma so we will pay you a little less but you should be happy because we are paying you. I think they do that with everyone. I think that’s why actors are concerned. Yash Raj paid me well as a writer but hoga na kahi pe that hum Yash Raj hain. You are getting a role, they are giving you a break. So maybe the value is a little less but they never delay in payment.”
Actor Vikram Kapadia has appeared in web series like The Night Manager, Made in Heaven, Scam 1992 and films like Kapoor and Sons, Yodha.
