Top five Indian kabaddi players, including Nitesh Kumar and Nitin Tomar, were in attendance on Thursday (August 25) to witness the growth of another Indian homegrown sport, Kho Kho, when they watched the inaugural edition of Ultimate Kho Kho.
Kabaddi has become one of the most popular sports in the country since the establishment of the sports league in 2014. And now, with the inaugural edition of the Ultimate Kho Kho, Kho-Kho, which was also born in the mud like kabaddi, has been transforming into India’s next favourite game.
GMR Sports owns both the UP Yoddhas and the Ultimate Kho Kho team Telugu Yoddhas, and the players enjoyed watching the indigenous sport in action.
“I’m sure it took us a while to adjust to the mat, and I’m sure it’s the same for our Kho Kho Players, but the way they’re doing the pole dives and skydives is simply amazing,” said UP Yoddhas captain Nitesh.
Nitesh was accompanied to the games by his teammates Nitin Tomar, Surender Gill, Ashu Singh, and Sumit. Amit Burman promotes Ultimate Kho Kho in collaboration with the Kho Kho Federation of India. The league’s first season is currently underway in Pune.
